The Greenacres golf course was designed and built by the late Mr Charlie Emerson in 1969, at West Plains. The 18 hole parkland course set on relatively flat land, only 10 minutes drive from the Invercargill city centre, offers arguably the best golfing facilities in Southland.
The course itself is a pleasure to play, with firm fairways all year round, a few well placed water hazards and well manicured greens. Visitors are welcome to play a casual round of golf or join in our club competition.

The course is spread out through the confines of the well know Queens Park. This is a course that requires a good straight drive off the tee on a majority of the holes followed by an equally straight shot to the green. A relatively short course of the men’s tees it is a stern test for ladies off the yellow tees.

Still maturing as a golf course this is a fantastic course to test your skills.On a windy day the first 2 holes are enough to make you think you are on a British links course. With four tee options there is a course for everyone.This Course has been re-developed by TMGD (Greg Turner & Scott Macpherson) and the new layout was opened early March 2009. The green fees do not reflect the quality of this course.
Former top NZ Professional golfer, Greg Turner (now into golf course design) and his associate Scott Macpherson secured funding in 2006 to develop the course and work commenced on altering the layout in January 2007. Four spectacular new holes have been added, four have been removed and several others modified. The new layout was officially opened for club members on 7th March 2009. On Monday 9th an exhibition match was played between Peter Senior & Peter O'Malley versus Peter Fowler & Mahal Pearce. Greg Turner believes this course has the potential to be amongst the finest Links in the Southern Hemisphere.
