This is a course that requires a good straight drive off the tee on a majority of the holes followed by an equally straight shot to the green. A relatively short course of the men’s tees it is a stern test for ladies off the yellow tees.

Ringa Ringa Golf Club (Stewart Island)

This is a unique 6-hole course on an equally unique island.
The only way to get to Stewart Island is by plane or boat and if you are a golfer you .. More should not leave the island without a visit to Ringa Ringa. If you only have time to play six holes that’s fine. If you have more time why not try the full 18 holes.
You will find it takes a little longer to play this course due to the time you spend taking in the scenery, not to mention the hills.

This course has been re-developed by TMGD (Greg Turner & Scott Macpherson) and the new layout was opened early March 2009. The green fees do not reflect the quality of this course.
Former top NZ Professional golfer, Greg Turner (now into golf course design) and his associate Scott Macpherson secured funding in 2006 to develop the course and work commenced on altering the layout in January 2007. Four spectacular new holes have been added, four have been removed and several others modified.
The new layout was officially opened for club members on 7th March 2009. On Monday 9th an exhibition match was played between Peter Senior & Peter O’Malley versus Peter Fowler & Mahal Pearce.
Greg Turner believes this course has the potential to be amongst the finest Links in the Southern Hemisphere.
Southland Golf Club (Oreti Sands) is the Southern-most 18 hole links in the world, situated 10 kms south-west of Invercargill, the most southerly city in New Zealand. The course features a links layout with large greens on a sandy base that will challenge even the most experienced player.

One of the best 9-hole courses in Southland. This course has a good variety of holes and the alternative tee locations create a totally different .. More course second time round.
The course is located on a former racecourse and is nestled close to bushclad limestone cliffs. Bellbird terrace is a great location to hear the native bird in full song.
If you are visiting the South to walk the new Humpridge track make sure you allow an extra few hours to play this gem of a course.
Waikaia Golf Club
