Golf in Schools Programme 2021 – Information Sheet.

Golf Southland is focused on delivering a professional, safety-first programme at all times. Golf equipment used incorrectly can be dangerous if not strictly supervised in a controlled environment.

To ensure safety of all students, teachers and presenters, we ask that all students wear appropriate footwear at all times and a teacher or parent is in attendance at all times to assist with delivery.

SNAG Programme – Years 0-8

This programme consists of four sessions incorporating the basic fundamentals of golf – Putting, Chipping, Pitching and Full Swing.

Students will be encouraged to participate in a number of game and skill-based activities during each session.

Each session uses simple key words that make up the sequential movements of the full golf swing and will cover some of the core values that are associated with the game of golf. Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Perseverance and Discipline.

SNAG+ Programme – Years 5-8

This programme will cover the same content as the SNAG programme followed by a session using age-appropriate golf clubs and golf balls at a local golf course or suitable greenspace that allows for safe delivery.

Each session uses simple key words that make up the sequential movements of the full golf swing and will cover some of the core values that are associated with the game of golf. Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Perseverance and Discipline.
